Read Ephesians 2:4-10

Have you ever been with someone who loved to tell stories about themselves?  I know that there are times when you are telling a story that you have to include yourself.  However, there are some people that love to tell stories about themselves.  Or sometimes they even feel that they have to “one up” you when you tell a story.

The problem we addressed on Sunday morning is that sometimes we like to make ourselves the main object of the Bible passage we are reading.  However, the reality of the matter is that God is the subject and object of Scripture, not us.  When we get that right, it helps us understand and interpret the Bible in a more correct way.

Today’s passage, Paul reminds us of the fact that God is rich in mercy… and that His plan for us is not only to be “saved by grace through faith” but that we are “His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works”.  Have you experienced that free gift?  Are you doing the works God created you to do?  If you are unsure how to answer any of those questions, please reach out to me or to someone who knows those answers.
